Women's Leadership
- Women Supporting Women at Work
- Addressing Internalized Sexism with Compassion
- Avoider - avoids uncomfortable or unpleasant tasks and conversations. This paralysis escalates problems in relationships and projects, and causes growing stress and anxiety about the avoided issue.
- Controller - everything must be done their way. Discourages and disempowers others. Challenged with delegation, often feels alone and overburdened.
- Hyper-Achiever - can't rest on a job well done. Exhausts self and others. Alienates others with their unrelenting task focus.
- Hyper-Rational - overly focuses on logic and rationality, with costs to relationships, stakeholders or company values.
- Hyper-Vigilant - anxiety and worry about what might go wrong takes this person out of peak performance. Others learn to discount their concerns, which means they lose the ability to influence others when it actually matters.
- Pleaser - has a hard time advocating for their needs or for the needs of their team, out of a desire to not upset others. This prevents honest conversations and leads to resentment and lack of shared information.
- Restless - an oversized need for fun and excitement can get in the way of work or achieving long term goals.
- Stickler - perfectionism applied to everything—important or not. Derails productivity and discourages others who never do a good enough job.
- Victim - may feel overwhelmed, helpless or resigned. Negative feelings hinder productive conflict resolution, accountability and motivation.
These are only examples. Your own version of these Saboteurs might have a different manifestation and different impact on yourself and others.

At Jana's workshop, I got to practice and receive rapid feedback on the skills I most care about. I learned to communicate in a more relatable way that reaches people and helps them feel heard, and I've been more confident in all important conversations at work. I had one shortly after the training that would have made me extremely nervous in the past and instead became the most productive and long overdue conversation I've ever had with that individual. I also developed a much better understanding of psychological safety and how to create it. One of the most valuable weekends I've ever had.”
