What is an Active Hope mini-workshop?
These 2-hour virtual events feature a simple yet powerful guided conversation process that offers connection and inspiration.
First, participants divide into small groups of 4-6 to identify and share their current gratitude, joy, pain or fears with one another in a supportive environment. Through structured dialogue, participants begin to gain new insights and emerge with renewed hope and inspiration -- more energized and better able to generate what they are lacking or longing for in their world.
Participants have reported feeling connected, supported, energized, grounded, inspired, peaceful and hopeful following the experience.

Who Created Active Hope?
Active Hope grew from the work of Joanna Macy, PhD and colleagues ("The Work That Reconnects",1970's to present) and from a book that Dr. Macy co-authored with Chris Johnstone called Active Hope: How to Face the Mess We're In Without Going Crazy.
In early 2020, inspired by an article by Chris Johnstone, a group of dedicated leadership and life coaches in China designed a pro bono healing offering to support their citizens in the midst of the Coronavirus crisis. They have generously facilitated this process at no charge for over 10,000 participants (!) ... a tremendous outreach which continues today.
As Covid-19 spread, these coaches graciously reached out to share their wisdom with English-speaking audiences, beginning with what is now called the Bridge To Hope NA team of Co-Active coaches in Canada. This North American team is expanding the "pay it forward" movement by training coaches around the globe to offer Active Hope events to communities everywhere.
Their intent is for this mechanism of healing and inspiration to spread faster and farther than the virus itself!
Learning With Experience, LLC is one group who partnered with Bridge to Hope NA to deliver Active Hope events to a widespread audience.
